Frankie is a gorgeous young pup with the most incredible green Podenco eyes that see straight into your heart.

Since rescue, Frankie started his journey with us in kennels for a few weeks for a nice stable environment to help us get to know him and put on some much needed weight with TLC and good meals. Whilst in kennels (as you can see from his videos) he had great larks with his doggie buddies, running and playing. He really is a happy boy and loves the company of other dogs.

Now in foster care, Frankie is learning the pleasures and routines of home life; in training for his forever home. He is learning basic commands, is now house trained and can walk on the lead, he has a little ritual for putting his harness on now - such a helpful boy! He is getting use to walks in a town environment; he gets better every day – helped by his natural inquisitive nature. Now that Frankie is able to relax, we see his cheeky puppy side; he is allowed to be a puppy, because he missed out on that before. He would be suited to a home with a dog who will teach him and play with him; as he takes a lot of his social cues from his foster sister and has helped build bridges with humans.

Let us explain about his name; it comes from his rescue story.

We were alerted to a very skinny Podenco in desperate need of help. A lovely lady had been feeding him for a few days but could not get close enough to catch him. Our AAR team went to assess the situation and quickly saw that this was very urgent, his ribs were so visible that it would soon be life or death for this young boy if we didn’t act fast.

After gaining his trust and feeding him frankfurters (hence the name!), the rescue team managed to take him to the vets the next day and straight into kennels.

Keep updated with Frankie’s progress; he really is a funny chap with his life ahead of him, frankly could you offer him a place in your heart?
