Available to foster or adopt

Hi, my name is Samson. I'm a male cream with black muzzle Mastin and I'm 2 years old. I'm a large sized dog. I weigh 36.00kg . I'll be neutered as soon as I've settled in. I'm good with other dogs but the team here are still getting to know me and don't yet know how I get along with cats or children. But I love to meet new friends and I'll be getting socialised with them soon and we'll keep you posted. I've had my vaccinations and have my chip and passport so I'm ready to travel to a new forever home in Spain, or (unless otherwise mentioned) anywhere in Europe.

On the 9th January 2020, Samson was reported to AAR by Matt and Jo Dean on an urbanisation compound in Puente Don Manuel who had been feeding him. He was in a very bad state with obvious signs of Leish. Two members of the committee went to catch him from Jo and Matt's neighbours garden. He was very scared and after a failed attempt, disappeared into the olive grove behind the house. The AAR ladies had to seek some advice from the vet on the best ways to catch and rescue this dog - the vet suggested to give Samson some tranquilliser tablets to calm him. The ladies waited for 2 hours as we they could not leave him to stray. Eventually the tablets took effect and we they were able to disentangle him from a bush he had sought refuge in. The ladies got him back to the vet for immediate check-up while still asleep in the back of the car and blood was taken for analysis.
A sample of blood showed that he was anaemic and the rest was sent off for further testing. For an initial start Samson was given Bravecto (fleas & ticks) and worming tablets. His full medication will begin after blood test results are known.
Samson is now resting in the kennels and he already looks better as he is safe and eating well.

Samson is getting better, eating well and starting to heal too. Samson has already had his first vaccination to include microchip and passport. He is enjoying at the moment his secure life in the kennels where he is building more strength and socialising with other dogs. Samson is such a sweet dog whose only desire is to have a home with someone to love and cherish and spend some good times with and if he gets additional friends then it will be a big bonus for him too!!

Also as soon as his health gets stronger, Samson will be neutered and ready to travel anywhere in Europe or Spain and join his new family. If you want to offer Samson your home to share with, please email for more information on how to adopt him or even to foster him and get to know him better.
