Little Jack Black is one of 3 puppies found by some bins on 29th March, terrified, starving and dehydrated - they wouldn't have lasted much longer. Luckily found by passers by, all 3 pups are now safe in kennels, warm, dry, fed and watered.
The initial vet check revealed some shocking cruelty and neglect. Jack and his sisters were full of worms, and their malnourished state was not the result of a few days of no eating; no - this had been going on for months. Jack and his sisters were probably kept in the dark somewhere, sitting in their own waste and fed a little bit of food every few days; this has resulted in dull eyes, long yellow and brittle nails and poor skin.
Luckily, the pups have now been bathed, nails clipped, and are receiving worming treatment. They are receiving the best in food and nutrition to get them on the right development path, and the vet is optimistic that with this TLC for a few weeks they will come back fighting fit.
They are really enjoying the sunshine and are very friendly with the team of volunteers.
So we will monitor their progress, get them stable and then look for foster homes. After which we will look for forever homes, so please keep updated with their stories.
