Rocky is now living happily in his "Forever Home"

Rocky was found covered in blood when he came to his rescuer’s house. He was taken to an emergency vet visit which showed he had been shot at close range with what we can only assume was a shotgun - multiple pellets inside.
12kg underweight, covered in ticks and fleas, collar so tight it had to be cut off. Despite all this, Rocky seems to be a very loving and trusting dog, approximately 2 and half years old.
This will take some time for his wounds to heal, and for the vet to declare him medically fit for adoption.
After just over 5 weeks of daily nursing care by his rescuer/foster, Rocky's wound is healing and closing nicely and some of the pellets have started to come out but still loads under the skin!! However he is improving slowly every day due the great care of his foster. He has still few weeks yet for a complete recovery but he has now moved to a new foster home where he will continue to receive the daily care, with regular medical reviews.
Finally the vet has decided to stitch the wound and to neuter him too.
Soon he will start his vaccination and his new medical treatment for Leishmaniasis too.

Rocky's medical care and its cost is high, so we will be grateful for any donations towards that cost.

While Rocky is recovering from his horrid ordeal, he is searching for his best furever home here in the Axarquia Region of Malaga, South of Spain, where he can share his life with people who will love and care for him.
Rocky is a giant gentle Spanish Mastin Dog who loves so much to be around people, other dogs, cats. He approaches everyone who can give him big cuddles as they will be rewarded with kisses and wagging tails. He is good on leads.
If you want to adopt Rocky, please email AAR at axarquia-rescue@hotmail.com for more information.
