AAR would like to wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas and we wish you all the best for the coming year. .............. AAR calendars 2021 are now available. .............. To date AAR have re-homed 2207 animals. This year so far, we have re-homed 6 animals, while a further 5 are reserved, and 27 are available for adoption.

Axarquia Animal Rescue is run by unpaid volunteers. We rely totally on our supporters for funding and help to carry out the many day to day activities. We would be unable to do what we do without help and support from people like you. Thank you.

Brexit Update

As I am sure everyone is aware, with Brexit nearly upon us we are still waiting for confirmation of the requirements for animals to move from Spain to the UK. Whilst we are obviously hoping things will continue as they are, there is a real possibility that the regulations we already comply with could become even tougher with much longer timescales and higher costs involved.

Given this massive uncertainty we are unable to reserve any animals for the UK at the moment until we know the outcome (unless adoption has already confirmed).

We will of course register any UK interest but will have to continue to pursue local adoption opportunities in the meantime. We know that there are a number of UK potential adopters who are desperately waiting to hear if they can go ahead and adopt. We are so very sorry for delay but the situation is totally out of our hands.

We very much hope this will be resolved mid/end of January and of course we will confirm if we can continue with UK adoptions as soon as we can. Lets hope we hear some good news very soon.

There are many ways that you can get involved and help the animals, and we are always open to suggestions and offers of help. When you join the team of AAR supporters you know you will be making a real difference to the lives of animals. You are sure to meet nice people and make new friends too!
