Fundraising

Axarquia Animal Rescue is a non-profit organisation and fundraising is a significant way for us to raise the money we need for our operations.

We rely on our volunteers to give up their time freely and help raise funds in all kinds of ways.

Each week we run a Tombola stall at three markets on different days. We also run a monthly quiz, arrange trips to Gibraltar and further afield, and hold an Annual Dog Show.

In addition, we organise musical evenings, a music festival, and we try to have a presence at the local ferias.

We also have our AAR Charity Shop in Torre del Mar. This relies on your donations of clothing and bric a brac, and anything else that you don't need but that we could sell, and makes a great contribution to AAR funds.

Recently, someone had the ingenious idea to set up ‘Fill a Jar for AAR’. You are asked to put all those small coins that collect in your pocket into a jar and hand it in when it’s full. A simple idea and we are raising a significant amount towards our cause.

We also have collection tins in local shops and businesses. Every cent adds up.

There are numerous other ways we fund raise. Every so often we need to make a special appeal for help towards vet fees and kennelling. We also raise money through EasyFundraising, Teaming and selling goods online.

We are always looking for new ideas, maybe a company or business sponsorship. Perhaps you would like to help us?

Markets

We have three local markets where we hold our fundraising Tombolas every week. Come along and say hello to us - we are always pleased to meet our supporters and have a chat.

Tuesday: Farmers Market at Los Jardines de Trapiche, Trapiche, 35432. Open from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. We also hold our Fosterers Coffee Morning here on the first Tuesday of every month at 11.00 am.

Friday: Chiringuito Antonio in Puente Don Manuel, Calle Venta Baja, 29713. Open from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm

Saturday: Organic Market at the Algarrobo Garden Centre at KM 39 on the A356 between Velez-Málaga and Lake Viñuela (opposite the Renault Trck ITV Centre). Open from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm (on festival days from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm)
